As older guests, we appreciated the comfortable furnishings and the lack of steps or stairs at the cottage. the fully equipped kitchen was a highlight, and we loved the fresh eggs and other basic supplies provided. the spacious main bedroom had ample room for our luggage and mobility aids. the location on Loch Stenness offered breathtaking views, especially during sunsets and rainbows. the convenience of the nearby X1 bus was a plus, and being able to see Neolithic sites, like the Ring of Brodgar, from the garden was a unique experience. the owners and their parents were friendly and attentive, making us feel very welcome.
Felt very well looked after, no complaints.

The cottage is in an excellent location for touring the whole of mainland Orkney and is only 3 miles from the ferry. the breathtaking view of the Loch of Stenness adds to the charm. Guests were welcomed with fresh eggs from the owner's chickens and homemade jam and marmalade.
The individual heaters in the rooms made it somewhat difficult to get the place warm, especially during unusually cold weather.

We had an incredible trekking experience with our group of friends at a cozy cottage nestled by a picturesque river. The view from the cottage was breathtaking, and the beds were so comfortable that we struggled to get out of them in the morning. The host was warm and welcoming, and the well-equipped kitchen provided everything we needed. The cottage had both electric heating and a beautiful log fire, which created a cozy atmosphere for our evenings together. The owner even left us a special birthday treat and the cottage was modern and immaculate.
The exterior of the cottage lacked visual appeal, with a plain pebble-dashed facade, but the interior was lovely.

I had the most wonderful stay at a charming cottage surrounded by stunning scenery. The view of the river from the cottage was absolutely breathtaking. The beds were incredibly comfortable, making it hard to get up in the morning. The host was delightful and welcoming, and the kitchen was well equipped, with the fridge stocked with all sorts of delicious goodies. I loved cozying up by the log fire every evening, enjoying the warmth and ambiance. The owner even surprised me with wine, flowers, and sweets for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The cottage itself was modern, immaculate, and had all the necessary amenities. The location was perfect for exploring the archaeology of the area, and I even had the opportunity to visit a Neolithic burial site on the farm land belonging to the cottage. The owners went above and beyond to make my stay special, even sending my forgotten phone charger at their own expense. Thank you so much for such a memorable experience. I highly recommend this cottage. it was an unforgettable stay.

Stayed at a lovely cottage, perfect for hiking and fishing. Enjoyed the free WiFi and garden views. BBQ available, and close to Ring of Brodgar. Loved every moment!
Oh, what a shame that I couldn't appreciate the joy of fast traffic on wet, narrow verges. Such a loss!

The location of the cottage was perfect for exploring the historic sites in the area. It was situated on the main road between two main towns, making it easy to travel around. The cottage itself was clean and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen and a cozy sofa that was perfect for relaxing. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay special, with thoughtful touches like fresh farm eggs and a birthday card. The stunning views of the Loch of Stenness were a highlight, especially when enjoying a beer in the garden at sunset.
While the cottage had many positives, there were a couple of things that we didn't find ideal. the electricity in the cottage was powered by a coin meter, which wasn't advertised.
